Our project was born with the primary intention of providing emotional support, indiscriminately, to all those individuals who are experiencing directly or indirectly a situation that has shaken their emotional foundation. For example, the presence of cancer within a family.
In 2023,there were 1,958,310 new cases diagnosed and 609,820 deaths due to cancer in the United States alone. Recognizing the substantial number of patients, we understand that a structured support network will have the capacity to help and enhance the quality of life for many families.
Our objective is to establish a network of professionals and volunteers capable of supporting, guiding, and caring for individuals navigating through an emotional crisis, regardless of the causes and situations they are facing.
Join us in our mission to provide solace and assistance to those in need. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many.
About Milena's Joyful Living
The Milena’s Joyful Living is a non-profit organization, founded by Renata Guerra and Adriana Muzitano, inspired by the strength and hope emanated by the young Milena Guerra Pires.
Our mission is to be a place of comfort, offering emotional support to navigate this challenge with dignity and joy. Our commitment is to work with empathy and love, ensuring that each family feels supported and strengthened, reflecting the resilience and optimism that Milena taught us.
Know Milena
Milena Guerra Pires, born in 2014, brought joy to her family as the first generation born in the United States. With a vibrant personality and diverse interests ranging from dreaming of becoming a veterinarian to aspiring to be president, Milena saw the world as full of possibilities.
Her educational journey began at a Montessori school, where she thrived until the pandemic necessitated a transition to virtual schooling. Despite the challenges, Milena’s resilience shone through.
In August 2021, Milena’s life took an unexpected turn with a leukemia diagnosis. Throughout her battle, she exemplified courage and brought awareness to often-taboo topics like cancer.
Milena’s story is one of strength, resilience, and unwavering positivity, inspiring all who know her.
Do you know any children like Milena? They are beacons of hope and strength despite their challenges, and by supporting them and their families, we can make the world a better place for all future generations to come.
The Dream of Milena
During her treatment, Milena found comfort and fulfillment in various Access Consciousness techniques, particularly Access Bars and Symphony of Possibilities (SOP) sessions. These experiences helped her transcend the difficulties of treatment, offering her a sanctuary and expanding her worldview.
After two years and two months of treatment, Milena’s determination and strength culminated in the emotional Bell Ceremony, symbolizing the end of her chemotherapy sessions. It was a moment of celebration, not only for Milena but for all who accompanied her on this journey.
Milena dreams of empowering others to face their fears courageously and joyfully, turning their challenges into a source of inspiration and change. She has transformed not only her own life but also the lives of many others, sowing seeds of hope and courage. Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact one individual can have, regardless of age, and how bravery and resilience can triumph even in the most adverse circumstances.
Married since 2007 and a mother of two, holds a Business degree from Florida International University. Her career journey includes roles in the USA, including an internship at Disney, and involvement in Florida’s real estate market. Inspired by nature and her daughter Milena’s leukemia diagnosis in 2021, Renata explores alternative therapies and self-development. As a founder of “Milena’s Joyful Living,” she brings resilience and dedication to well-being to support others.
Adriana Muzitano: Director.
She’s an Italo-Brazilian with a global upbringing, transitioned from a career in finance to human development after living in Italy for two decades.
